Historical landmarks and other destinations*

- The Thermopyles (the Hot Gates, where Leonidas and the spartans fought the invading Persians). The historical information centre is 20 min drive from Kamena Vourla. 

- Delphi archaeological park and museum is 1h30 away by car. 

-The known byzantine monasteries of Meteora are 2h15 drive. 

Other day trips*: 

- Mountain village Pavliani with a recreation park inside the forest (1h by car), lake Nevropolis (45 min; consider parking in Eleftheroxori), mining theme park (Vagoneto) and the mountain Parnassos for more hikes.

- The town of Volos and the beautiful mountain Pelion with small villages to explore (2.5h by car).
